History of Our Building
In 2011, the Arts Council of Wayne County relocated to its current location, in downtown Goldsboro, known by history buffs as the Annie Dove Handley Building. Through the actions of the City of Goldsboro and Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation, the organization received a $200,000 NC Department of Commerce Main Street Solutions Grant. These funds allowed for total renovation of the first floor and the addition of an elevator.
Completed by Scott Construction, the renovations took approximately 10 months and the result is the beautiful, accessible building it is today. Some of its wonderful features include; tin ceilings, large windows, polished concrete floors, gallery lighting, and original woodwork and trim.
