    An exhibit by Patty Westfield.

    As a "new" artist, I am exploring a variety of mediums and techniques. I enjoy the problem solving aspect of the process, but also being swept up in the feel of putting paint on a canvas. I am still discovering the beauty all around me, the fulfillment of creating, and the mediums and techniques I might make my own.

    California-based vocalist, Inga Swearingen, specializes in jazz scatting and innovative vocal arrangements of folk songs. Swearingen has appeared on Prairie Home Companion. On this program, she will be accompanied by acclaimed jazz pianist, Bill Peterson, who is on the jazz faculty at Florida State University.

    This musical and dramatic program is hosted by the Core Ensemble, with verbal introductions to vignettes from the lives of Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo, Salvadoran peasant activist, Rufina Amaya, and Argentinean poet, Alfonsina Storni. A question and answer period with the performers will conclude the program.
