Pink Plunge

The PINK Plunge

Proceeds benefit Southeastern Cancer Care Cures for the Colors and the Arts Council of Wayne County

  • Become a TEAM CAPTAIN or Join an existing TEAM
  • Collect PLEDGES for your plunge
  • Create your PINK costume
  • PLUNGE in to the river at the State Park Swim Beach!

Join the Arts Council of Wayne County and Southeastern Cancer Care for the first ever PINK PLUNGE event at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park on Saturday, October 21st. This event is modeled after the very successful Hooley Plunge at Rocky Gap State Park in western Maryland. Whereas Marylanders take their plunge dressed in green for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities to benefit Special Olympics, our local event is encouraging participants to collect pledges from friends, family, and co-workers, then dress head-to-toe in PINK and PLUNGE into the Autumn waters at the park’s swim beach to benefit the Southeastern Cancer Center. This is a great activity for co-workers, sports teams, student groups, and other community-minded organizations to participate in together while having fun for a great cause!

Why pink? October is the month to THNK PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness

What is fun to wear that happens to be PINK? TUTUS of course!

Playing off of the “TUTU” theme, our signature number has become 22. The Arts Council has been operating fundraising events and making social media asks on the 22nd of each month since April 22nd, and the event weekend will culminate with a CABARET 22 performance on October 22nd at the Arts Council on John Street.

The Goals:

Engage 22 Team captains

With 22 team members each

Determined to raise

$22,222.22 in pledges!
