Summer Art Camp 2019

All sessions run Monday to Thursday,  9 a.m. until 12 p.m., except the Young Artist Session, which will start at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m.
The cost per Camp Session is $125.
Unless otherwise noted, all camps are for rising 1st graders to age 12.

Turtles, starfish and sand dollars OH MY! Fired arts sculpting and textile weaving are the mediums that will be used for this ocean lover’s camp. Campers will make a handwoven pouch to collect seaside treasures and explore the textures of the sea by sculpting creatures found in the ocean.

Seaside Textures and Textiles

Campers will journey through the sky, jump into the sea and end up on land. The undersea world will provide inspiration for 3-D painting
and feathered friends will offer the perfect opportunity to get hands dirty with paper mache. Back on land, campers will design masks and collages depicting the animal kingdom!

Fins, Feathers and Fur

School-aged campers will delight as they explore the artistic style and literature of some of their favorite authors. Campers will interact with a variety of art forms such as puppetry, painting and the performing arts inspired by Dr. Seuss, Roald Dahl, Eric Carle and Shel Silverstein.

Book Art Bonanza!

This colorful camp incorporates 2-D and 3-D projects that relate to various geographical areas around the world. Campers will be
introduced to painting Banyan Trees from Australia, creating brightly colored textiles representing the Panama/Columbia region, and constructing jungle animal masks and Rainforest birds.

Dynamic Art from Around the World

SpecTACOlar Art!

In this camp, the instructor will use literacy, technology and TACOS to inspire campers to
create unique images of tacos using acrylic on canvas. Campers will create one-of-a-kind art 
using Crayola Model Magic!
Instructor: Joy Vinson

If you love to draw, this camp is for you! Campers will experience the magic of drawing using ordinary and not-so-ordinary tools and techniques. Your art will come to life as you experiment with shadowing, shading, and the proper use of color.

In this hands-on discovery of the famous children’s author Eric Carle, yoga, painting, puppetry and one Very Hungry Caterpillar will awaken the senses of our young artists. The week will end with an art show and colorful Birthday party!
