EXPLORE

Stay up to date with our steady rotation of local and regional artists, bringing their visions to life in our Main Gallery.
About the Exhibit
Local artist John Overman invites viewers to interact with the subjects of his work, not just as striking photographs hanging in a gallery, but as living things; both critical to their ecosystem, and nature-made masterpieces— all at once. Featuring crisp, lively images of nature and wildlife found right here in our region, this exhibit explores the beauty and diversity of local flora, fauna and other local wildlife friends. Overman zooms in on small, quiet, and easily overlooked moments in nature, and shares a peek with us too.
Through both photography and informative displays, this exhibit encourages visitors to deepen their understanding of the ecosystems we share and the vital role plants and animals play in our everyday lives. Overman’s work reflects a belief that when the natural world is healthy and thriving, so are we. By capturing intimate glimpses of wildlife and native landscapes, he hopes to inspire a greater appreciation for our environment—and a renewed commitment to protecting and conserving it.
By purchasing a piece from 𝘼 𝘾𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙧 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠, you can support the North Carolina chapter of The Nature Conservancy, an organization driving the science, policy, and community work behind climate solutions across the nation. A portion of all gallery sales from John's show will be donated in support of the TNC NC and their vision for preservation, conservation, and climate healing.

Duran’s latest collection of work resides in the liminal space between memory and abstraction. Past traumas quietly thread through our lives, shaping the inner world of the present. Through abstract expressionism and mixed media, Duran pulls apart these threads, guided by life experiences, music, and raw emotion. Color, texture, and gesture give form unseen forces. Bits of trauma emerge like unexpected bones in a spoonful of soup— reminders to honor and embrace the complexity within our own stories.
