Lynn Grissett is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance (jazz) and holds a master’s in music performance (jazz) from North Carolina Central University, where he studied under Branford Marsalis. Over the course of his career, Grissett has worked with jazz legends and contemporary icons alike, including Ellis Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Maceo Parker, Larry Graham, Nile Rodgers, Trombone Shorty, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Ledisi, and many more. Most recently, he was a member of New Power Generation Hornz, the horn section of Prince’s New Power Generation, and his performances have graced stages at the Montreaux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Essence Festival, and on shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Arsenio Hall Show.
Grissett and his band were an absolute joy to host at the Arts Council. We’re so grateful to the loyal audience members who come out seasonably for these unforgettable performances, as well as the new friends who joined in to enjoy downtown Goldsboro in a unique and lively way.
