Jack E. Kannan Art Education Scholarship
The Annual Jack E. Kannan Art Education Scholarship is now open. Each year, one exceptional and dedicated senior from Wayne County is awarded a $1,000 scholarship to further their commitment to pursuing the arts in college. This opportunity is open to seniors from public, private, charter, or homeschool backgrounds.
Thank you to all of our donors that will sustain our scholarship for 22 more years!


Important Dates
The deadline for submitting completed applications and supporting materials to the Arts Council of Wayne County is April 16, 2027 at 11:59 at night. School counselors may submit on behalf of the student. You may submit by mail, in person, or by email to anna@artsinwayne.org
Guidelines for Art Education Scholarship
The arts represent a vast expanse of possibilities. This scholarship is open to students pursuing a variety of disciplines, including: Theatre & Performing Arts, Visual Arts & Graphic Arts, Music & Dance, or Literary Arts. We encourage you to apply and showcase your unique talents. Join us in celebrating the vast expanse of possibilities that the arts have to offer.

Who does the Art Education Scholarship Fund ?
The Jack E. Kannan Arts Education Scholarship was established to recognize high school seniors who exhibit characteristics and values possessed by the 2022-2024 Arts Council of Wayne County’s Executive Director Jack E. Kannan.
The Scholarship, supported by his family, friends and the Arts Council of Wayne County, will award an annual scholarship of $1,000 to a deserving student who has exemplified the traits of Jack E. Kannan.
