About the Event

The Arts Council is excited to announce the VERY first ACWC Plein Air Quick Paint/Draw Competition at this year's CBA Birthplace Fall Festival.

What's Plein Air? This is a method of outdoor painting/creating which uses nature as the only reference for your work. We challenge you to create a masterpiece directly from the gorgeous rural scenes of the Aycock Birthplace Historic Site within the time allotted. NO reference images are permitted for use. If this is your first venture into plein air, no worries! This is a great opportunity to give it a try. We are open to artists working in other mediums including sketching and drawing.

If you are interested in joining us, please email me, McKenzie, for more information. We sure hope to see you there!
